Who
What
How Long
I’ve done heavy labor most of my adult life from roofing to factory machine operator. Moved North 500km with my kids in 2003 and swore to never work under another roof again- that opened up a new world of school, shovelling dirt, flagging, and a lot of snow clearing to septics and heavy equipment operator. It hasn’t been easy keeping up with the best in the trades, but learning from each person has got me where I am today.
Where
Northern Ontario, mostly around North Bay.
Why
I have always had a love for motors, mostly torque and horsepower. After a year in college doing my motive power technology course, I missed the outdoors too much; so I chose to focus on heavy equipment training instead. I was given the chance in 2009 to learn all about septics, Joe Green became my mentor. The more challenging the job, the more I learned and enjoyed all aspects of this career from labour to design and operating equipment. I went and wrote my tickets. It’s been a great career! Joe retired in 2015, so I decided to learn another trade, landscaping construction. I’m addicted to learning and so many want to teach… Stick with what you love, your passion will inspire the ones you least expect to succeed.
For Fun
Roadtrips, camping and fishing when I can find the time. I’ve found the man of my dreams, and my daughters are adults now, but one in college and raising my 6 year old grandson keeps me home to rebuilt my 93 Dodge diesel truck and enjoy family time!
