Canadian company, Eldorado Gold Corporation, announced yesterday that a worker was killed on site in Greece on the morning of August 28, 2017.
The contracted employee was clearing trees at the Skouries gold and copper project, where he was struck by a branch from a falling tree. Injuries sustained from the incident were fatal.
Eldorado Gold released a statement affirming that investigations into the event are ongoing.
“Safety is our top priority at Eldorado Gold and we are committed to the well-being of our employees and contractors on all of our sites.” said Eldorado Gold’s President and CEO, George Burns.
