A resurfacing project in south Pierce County, Washington is being implemented to help motorists avoid skidding.
5 winding roads in the area have been identified as priority locations due to “curve alignments, the speed of traffic, and the rate of fatal or serious-injury crashes”, according to Dispatch News. The roads will be resurfaced with an innovative “high-friction” material to prevent sliding on wet pavement.
Pierce County received a federal grant of $1.1 million to assist in funding this project. The project is anticipated to take 15 days to complete.
