Personal Protective Equipment
When working as subcontractor, it’s important to ensure that all your workers are provided with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to safely complete their job.
Use daily safety talks to discuss the purpose of the PPE being used to educate workers on the importance of adhering to these safety standards.
Stay in Frequent Communication with Contractor
Staying in frequent communication with the general contractor will allow you to:
- Appropriately schedule your crews to avoid down time
- Be advised of any newly identified safety hazards and the measures taken to correct and/or reduce the risk of injury or illness
- Relay any safety concerns or hazards
Attend Safety Meetings
If you get the opportunity, participate in contractor safety programs, events, and meetings on site. Alternatively, ensure that your crews are provided with one safety talk each day. This helps keep workers’ safety-conscientious onsite.
