Garden River Truss has received $315,300 in provincial funding, which will be used to purchase new equipment to expand production. The company builds roof and floor trusses, and interior and exterior prefabricated wall panels at its 11,680-square-foot manufacturing plant, established on the Garden River First Nation just east of Sault Ste. Marie. The company sells the product through building supply centres in Northern Ontario and Northern Michigan. “We’re proud of the strong partnership we have built with Garden River First Nation,” said Gerry Greco, president of Garden River Truss, in a June 14 news release. “This investment will help us grow the business, hire new staff and continue contributing to the community.” The expansion is expected to create 10 full-time jobs.
