- Prior to starting a cut, allow the saw to reach full speed
- Hold stock against tabletop and rear fence
- When ripping, use a push stick
- Use appropriate saw blades for the task at hand
- Prior to making any adjustments in set up, turn saw off and wait for blade to stop completely
