1910 – Canadian pilot J.A.D (Douglas) McCurdy makes aviation history during a test flight in Brooklyn, New York.  During the flight the first air-ground radio messages were sent between the McCurdy’s Curtiss biplane and the Sheepshead Bay ground station.
