1910 – Canadian pilot J.A.D (Douglas) McCurdy makes aviation history during a test flight in Brooklyn, New York.  During the flight the first air-ground radio messages were sent between the McCurdy’s Curtiss biplane and the Sheepshead Bay ground station. 

1992 – An agreement was signed between CN North America, Burlington Northern and Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Mexico.  The agreement was to link customs services and share common equipment to achieve streamlined services and production.   The agreement created a single North American Rail System.
