An all-season road providing access to a mine has been granted a conditional approval in Canada’s North West Territories.
Canada Zinc has been awarded provisional approval by the Mackenzie Valley Review Board to develop a year-round road through the Nahanni National Park Reserve to provide access to the Prairie Creek zinc, lead, and silver mine. The application process took more than 3 years to complete, according to a CBC article.
Canada Zinc’s Prairie Creek is an “advanced-staged zinc-lead-silver property”, the mills of which have a capacity of 1,000 tons per day.
