Federal and City of Toronto officials have announced funding for the City’s Fairbank-Silverthorn Trunk Storm Sewer System Project, part of Toronto’s basement flooding protection program. The project consists of building a new storm sewer system in Fairbank-Silverthorn area, which will relieve pressure on the existing combined sewer system during extreme weather events, stated a June 10 release.
