A construction worker was pronounced dead at a construction site in southern Alberta Tuesday night.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) has launched an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred near Airdrie. The Calgary Herald reports an RCMP statement that “preliminary investigation suggests that a steel girder had swung into the one lane of traffic while being lifted onto the trailer and was struck by a northbound semi truck”.
The impact struck a 37-year-old construction worker, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the semi truck was uninjured.
