Along with Aecon, the build team includes Parsons Inc. and Amico Design Build Inc. Under the design-build-finance (DBF) contract, Parsons, Hatch and EXP are responsible for design, while National Bank will take on the financing. Construction on the 18-kilometre widening project is scheduled to begin toward the end of this year. The job consists of adding lanes to the busy Ontario highway, which currently spans between six and eight lanes from the Credit River in Mississauga and Regional Road 25 in Milton. From east to west, the project will expand the 401 to 12 lanes from the Credit River to Winston Churchill Boulevard; 10 lanes from Winston Churchill to the Highway 407 interchange; 12 lanes from the 407 to just east of the James Snow Parkway; and finally to 10 lanes between James Snow and Regional Road 25 READ HERE
