- See if a substitution can be made to work with non-flammable materials, alternatively
- Consult appropriate manuals (i.e. MSDS) to ensure safe handling, storage, and use of materials
- Eliminate all possible ignition sources prior to working with the dangerous materials
- Ensure work area has proper ventilation
