Approximately 450,000 Dodge Ram pickups are being recalled over faulty water pumps.
Automaker Fiat Chrysler is recalling the trucks due to a water pump bearing which can “overheat under certain conditions, potentially leading to an engine fire”, reports the Toronto Sun.
Affected models include the following 2013-2017 model years with 6.7-litre engines:
- Ram 2500 pick ups
- Ram 3500 pick ups
- Ram 3500 pick ups
- Ram 3500 chassis cabs
- Ram 4500 chassis cabs
- Ram 5500 chassis cabs
Repair or replacement of the water pumps will be completed at no cost to customers.
