Examine Prior to Use
Check for defects or damage, including scratches, pits, or loose screws.
Remove Dust Properly
To avoid scratches lenses, rinse glasses to remove dust.
Get in the habit of cleaning your glasses prior to storing them.
Store Somewhere Safe
Speaking of storing glasses, keep them in a hard protective case to prevent damage while not in use.
Wipe with Proper Products
Avoid scratching lenses by using proper fabrics (i.e. glasses cleaning cloths provided with glasses), avoid using your own clothes, paper towel, or other rough cloths.
Use a Lens Cleaner
Avoid using soap or window cleaner or other hash chemicals, which can leave a residue on lenses.
